Basil essential oil – Ocinum Basilicum

Description

Basil essential oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it an ideal oil for use in natural cleaners and disinfectants. Basil has been used to support the respiratory and digestive systems. It enhances alretness and concentration, calms anxiety and soothes insect bites and stings.

Can be applied directly to the skin, but should be diluted with a carrier oil for people with sensitive skins. Rub into temples to soothe headaches, or to the nose to reduce nasal inflammation.

Basil blends well with wintergreen, helichrysum, lemongrass, lavender, gernium, bergamot and cypress essential oils.

Avoid during pregnancy or for people who have epilepsy.
